A Hard Day's Night is a 1964 musical comedy film starring the English rock band the Beatles-John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr-during the height of Beatlemania. It was originally released in the United States on August 11, 1964 by United Artists. The film was a financial and critical success and was nominated for two Academy Awards including Best Original Screenplay. Forty years after its release, Time magazine rated it as one of the 100 all-time great films.

Paul and John wrote the song for George and it was his first ever lead vocal. Paul said George was just beginning to perfect his singing and that's why he and John wrote this song because it was easy to sing.
It certainly wasn't his first lead vocal. That would be Chains and Do You Want to Know a Secret on Please Please Me. That said, even though this song was considered a 'throwaway", it remains a highlight of the early Beatles to my ears.
@@JMDewald I'm sorry if I erred when stating it was his first lead vocal. I got my information from an excellent documentary on RUclips. As far as it being considered a "throwaway", I always thought the song was something really good from the first time I heard it when I was young. I'm no "authority" on the Beatles but I've always thought so highly of them with one exception since I was a kid and I'm now 71. That one exception was when John said they were bigger than Jesus. I remember well when they were on the Ed Sullivan show.....everyone could hardly wait until the next week when they would perform again.
Wasn't his first lead vocal take good care of My baby or do You want to Know a secret?
@@l0v3ly8 Yes, Harrison sang both Chains and Do You Want to Know a Secret on their first album. I mistakenly wrote that it was Don't Bother Me on an earlier post. That song was his first writing credit. Thank you!
I think it was and is a good song.
George and Ringo’s little dance around the 2 min marker is so cute lol
One of my favorite Beatles songs.
What a great time to be alive !😊
One of my favourite songs. So simple and yet so powerful. George on lead vocal. Superb performance. ❤
Dear God those opening chords take me RIGHT BACK to the SRO local theater in Belmar, NJ where screeching teenyboppers (including me) screamed along with the Lads on the screen as we teetered on the edge of puburty, not understanding WHAT was happening to us but thrilled to have the Beatles carrying us along.
Love to watch them jam!!! Priceless
Two minutes thirty seconds transport back to a better time. 💔
Suddenly..am 13 again! Wherever U are Angels George & John (also Paul & Ringo..do ur darnest BEST) to get us back to that happy glorious DECENT era! Thnx 4 ur Greatness shared..so blessed@❤
When I hear someone say "where did the time go" I tell myself it went with the Beatles. And what a time it was. I'm glad I was a kid when the Beatles were young.
I know it was a little before my time, but I sure miss the days of my youth70-73 when at least half or closeto that on the Radio were very good.
One of the very few if only time George sang lead on a song he didn't write, still surprises me today
The Beatles gave to the world fantastic tunes, beautiful lyrics, and they are ever green. While singing they have good memory and it shows how deep they were intouch with their compositions.❤
this is why I love the beatles, mostly in their early songs, they had these new elements that are used to this very day, by various artists, it's genius, They invented modern pop
I agree 100℅
The early stuff was the best. Later, crap, like out of Faul. Why don’t we do it in the road? Pure filth.
I love all the "beetles" on the wall art behind them!
George’s laugh🥺
Update: I noticed it’s Paul’s, well.. DHICKSNSAIOS IT’S STILL CUTE AF🥺
Yeah!
its paul
Its paul not george
From joseph
@@daviddillon9718 I said it was paul first
I'm right back at the theater watching and loving this! Wish I was 14 again!
How charming were they ?
This is so filled with joy .. so uplifting ...
Their charm is primarily why we were SO enamored by them!!!
Love this early Beatles what a time to be a teenager 😎
I was there in 1964. God bless you all. ❤
A great song from my favorite Beatle's album. The golden age of rock n roll is now behind us - John and George have passed on and we will never see the fab four together again.
Great song, so simple and so innocent. From a time that was full of hope....God Bless
Yeah, before we knew how the world worked...
Yeah
Just love seeing and hearing them... Simple lyrics which stay in our hearts forever
John later labelled this song "a throwaway" by him and Paul, but wanted to give George a chance to sing a ditty as lead, thus here he is.
When a throwaway is better than anything today
“Hey, kids, I got an idea. Why don’t we do the show right here? YEAH!”
I never knew is was George who sang this. Great job. RIP
Yeah, yeah, yeah!!!
i still remember george's little dance on the 'if somebody tried to take my place' line!
Beautiful innocence of young love ..... just to dance with you ......need more !
I’ve always noticed how the other three seemed soooo proud that george was lead on this.
I can see it now
I LOVE this song. The harmony and smiles
